Initially, digital satellite programs had been primarily transmitted on the High band of the Satellite ASTRA 19,2° East.
Since the analogue switch-off on ASTRA 19,2° East at the 30th of April 2012, all programs are transmitted digital on the Low band and High band. Therefore, a satellite system which wants to receive all programs unrestrictedly must have 4 SAT-IF inputs.
A multiple-subscriber system with only 2 SAT-IF inputs allows only a restricted range of programs.
