SAT-multiswitches always switch one SAT-IF-Signal to a subscriber. The subscriber will always receive the full frequency range of this signal. It is irrelevant if there are analogue, digital or HDTV programs on it.

Digital TV programs are transmitted in the Low-Band and High-Band. For the future-proof reception of one Satelliteposition it is essential to distribute all 4 SAT-IF-Signals (Low-Band H/V and High-Band H/V). The minimum for the reception of all Satellite programs of one orbital position is a SAT-multiswitch SMS 5… or SMK 5… with 4 SAT-IF-Inputs.

A multiswitch with only 2 SAT-IF-Inputs (e.g. SMS 3… or SMK 2…) is not suitable for a future-proof distribution of all satellite programs and should be exchanged.
